alternative ? (acceleration is not a need, for me)
Hi,
I think you have to be reasonable in recognizing everyone who has
installed VirtualBox using kernel-level privileges, has not had an
issue. I've been using VirtualBox since it was first released.
Ok :-)
You convinced me that I don't risk that my system would be found in a
completely wobbly state because of VirtualBox itself :-)
Though on
http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Mac%20OS%20X%20build%20instructions
it says "The Mac OS X port is not yet completed."
Can you confirm me that there can't be anything malicious please ? :-)
So, I can use VirtualBox internally,
But I would like to have a Virtual Machine with an experimental web
site which i want to put online to have feedback from visitors,
so it is exposed to the hackers
On a security forum, sb said that the Virtual Machines are not a
perfect wall from hacking of the guest, and can also be hacked
So, I would like to have a Virtual Machine which runs in user space :-)
I installed only the system extensions, I manually extracted the
application VirtualBox, I manually made the hard links in it, I made
a soft link in /Applications/ ,
and VirtualBox says that it *wants* to be root :-(
If I'm ok for the system extensions,
is it technically possible to keep the application VirtualBox in user
space ? or has it a good reason to need to be root itself ?
btw, is your shift key broken? :)
Sorry, I don't have the practice (because I think it's not needed for
understanding)
