Oh I think the problem exists as it's never happened before. :) One of the things I do is run database benchmarks which require me to monitor the DBMS, the machine etc. So when I'm saying I'm running into swap, I really am. :) And the root cause was Vbox. What I think I'll do is revert to 3D Acceleration enabled and write a little shell script to monitor memory usage on virtualbox. Unless Frank has another idea.
