Greetings --

I am running VirtualBox OSE on a Kubuntu Jaunty system (AMD FX-55 --
2-GB RAM, 250-GB HDD).  At this time, there is only one client or guest
OS, namely Win98.  This is Windows 98 ORIGINAL; it is NOT Windows
98 "SE".

Thus far, I have only installed one application, but it must admit that
it is a very complex application.  It has taken over a week to install
the application because every step except one proceeded extremely
slowly -- and the installation completely "hung" the system at least
two times for several hours each.

I fully expect some compromise in speed due to operation in a virtual
mode -- but, frankly, this seems to be ridiculous!  Can anyone offer
suggestions (that a newbie can implement!) for speeding-up either Win98
within VirtualBox, or VirtualBox itself, or (as might be necessary)
both?

My profound THANKS for any assistance that can be provided!!!!!
