If I remember it correctly that was a longstanding problem
that I didn't encounter anymore on my mac at least since VirtualBox 2.2.
However, I'm using FreeBSD 7.2 64bit. As far as I know there are still
similar problems on FreeBSD with ZFS.

Can you give us more details about your installation?
