i want to have all big files on an external disk (to not encumber my
internal disk and for back up policy reasons)
sometimes i use my computer with the external disk disconnected, and
i still need to use a VM
What is your Host O/S? Mine is Linux and using `ln' (symbolic links),
I've moved my .VDI's to other disks.

so i can use symbolic links too, thank you for your "testimony" and
for the idea :-)
but the question of this thread is :
causes it some problems if we open VB while the external disk is
disconnected, or the VMs are just unavailable until the external disk
is back ?
