Ladies and Gentlemen,
I've downloaded the VboxGuestAdditions.iso and I think I've installed
it, but I still cannot get the screen to resize. How can I tell if
the additions really have been installed.
I'm running VirtualBox 3.08 under OS X 10.5.8 on an Intel MacBook
Pro. I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 desktop.
I've tried to install them both by using the "Install Guest Additions"
on the "Devices" pull-down menu and by launching the run file on the
VBoxGuestAdditions.iso image.
What's my next step?
The guest system is Ubuntu ? Right ?
Linux doesn't ( fortunately :-) have auto-launch feature .
You probably even didn't have to download VboxGuestAdditions.iso because
it is bundled in VitrualBox package for your host (OS X)
When you click on "Install Guest Addition" virtual cd-drive is fed with
that iso image.
Under linux you should mount it (not necessary in most cases because of
auto-mount )
as root
# mount /cdrom
and next
# cd /cdrom
# sh ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
see UserManual.pdf
4.3.1 Installing the Linux Guest Additions
