the guest machine. The entire purpose of installing VirtualBox was to

I'm strongly recommend to read UserManual.pdf 4.6 Folder sharing.
Shared Folders is feature I never managed to make it work (some versions
ago it failed and I gave up) . I use samba , nfs to share files with
guests .
But according UserManual It could be as simple as
# mount -t vboxsf [-o OPTIONS] sharename mountpoint
