Now I found a solution for Windows 2000.
Perhaps it helps someone.

I used http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Migrate_Windows.

1. I start the VM under VMWare 1.0.
2. I ran mergeide from the side above.
3. I deinstall VMWare Tools, and all Drivers which are VM specific.
The Keyboard driver must not be deinstalled because in the first start
in VirtualBox the keyboard does not work.
(I had to learn it and start the VM again in VMWare 1.0 ;-))
4. I shutdown the VM
5. I create a VM in VirtualBox and use the same VMDK hard disk file.
6. I activate acpi io.
7. I configure the hardware (Memory, serial port, graphics memory, etc)
8. I start the new VM in VirtualBox.
9. The mouse does not work but I make at first all with keyboard.
10. I cancel all automatic coming installation windows.
11. I install the VirtualBox-Guest-Addons.
12. After reboot I configure the graphic and not ready! The serial ports are
missing although I configured them for the VM.
13. I go to the SystemSettings - New Hardware - Install new - Select from
List - Select "Standard communication interface (I hope this is correct
translated).
I use the default settings for the new serial port.
14. After reboot I found a serial port but it is COM3 instead of COM1.
But that does not matter, it works.
15. I think it is senseful to open the Hardware-Manager (?? in German
"Gerätemanager") show invisible hardware and remove the rest of the VMWare
hardware. I am not sure if vmscsi is form VMWare so I do not deinstall it.

Now I am ready.

I hope I did not forget something.

What about the performance?
Is a migrated Win-VM slower then a VM which is installed directly in
VirtualBox ?

Ciao
