openSUSE 11.2 now has kernel-flavour-devel package which ensures that
the kernel-source package is setup correctly, partly due to there being
kernel-desktop flavour added to the list of kernels. Virtualbox binary
from virtualbox.org automatically inserts the kernel module when it is
installed and you only have to run vboxdrv when you update your kernel
and you are prompted when you start the virtual machine.
You don't have to compile your kernel, you simply have to have kernel
sources installed. Make sure you have the kernel devel package installed
(I believe it depends on kernel-source ) and Virtualbox should install
and work properly on openSUSE 11.2 I don't have a problem with my system.
