I'm writing to make this problem worse. Today I tried with a Freebsd 7.2 guest. FreeBSD 7.2 guest could not get an IP address while simulating pcnet III adapter, I switched to pcnet II and FreeBSD got an ip address. It still doesnt have internet access as it can not resolve names properly but I'm still researching as to how/why that would be so. Maybe if I download the PC-BSD iso and look at that, at least I'll have a fully functioning FreeBSD core environment to poke around in and see if I can see whats happening.
