I had similar problems beginning with 3.0.10. (see the thread starting
at Message-ID <4b517747.1070...@gmx.de>), which where solved in the
3.1.4 beta that was released on 28th. Maybe worth a try.

For me, changing to host-only did provide an IP via DHCP, but of course
then the guest has no network other than the host.
