I have kernel panic too on 8.0-STABLE. This started after the recent
(last 1.5 months) updates of ports and system.
Since you have the same problem in 7.3 I guess it's the port change
that caused it.
Not quite: virtualbox works fine after last updates port (from
25.01.2010). But i have panic after updates OS from 7.2-STABLE to
7.3-PRERELEASE.
