Hi Klaus, The issue I see with the above is you're asking someone to read your mind. :) Being that I much prefer to resolve problems than to argue (which I believe you're the same way), I'll propose putting together the set of questions for a FAQ entry. I welcome you and anyone else to add/subtract and we'll move the information over to the FAQ. Perhaps once a month, we can post a reminder to the list (easy to `cron') on how to request help from the list. I figure at the minimum Alexey will contribute. :) How to get help from the List ============================= All software has bugs. The VirtualBox team is fast at resolving issues. However, as the reporter of a problem, it's your responsibility to provide accurate information. Below are key pieces of data you should provide when requesting help from the List. Environment ----------- o Version of VirtualBox installed (e.g. 3.1.2) o Type and version of the Host Operating System (e.g. openSUSE 11.2, Windows XP SP3, etc) o Type and version of the Guest O/S o Version of the Guest Additions installed - provide example of how to obtain. Problem ------- o Describe the problem: - What are you trying to accomplish? - What did you expect and what was the result? Attempted Resolutions --------------------- o Have you searched the User Manual? o What have you attempted and what was the result of each attempt? Data ---- o Question: Can we post `VBox.log' -- Pablo Sanchez - Blueoak Database Engineering, Inc Ph: 819.459.1926 Fax: 760.860.5225 (US) _______________________________________________ vbox-users mailing list vbox-users@virtualbox.org http://vbox.innotek.de/mailman/listinfo/vbox-users
