That's really a pity. The smart solution would be to provide the forum discussions as digest (or at least a summary of the topics with a url to the entire post)
and to forward mailing list submissions to the forum. That's possible. Forums are crap. I'm interested in many different topics. Todfay I open one application, enter one password and see all my mailing lists and newsgroup subscriptions. I do not have the time to log into all the different forum servers just to browse through the topics. No way to convince them to continue with mailing lists?
