  I have not /etc/init.d/qmail. This .rpm runs qmail via dt-run and
inittab. Hmmmm... which finally has lead me to a solution.

  I changed this linea in the script /var/service/qmail-pop3d/run:

#CHKPASS="/bin/checkpassword"
CHKPASS="/var/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw"

  I disabled /etc/xinet.d/vpopmail and made a symbolic link in /service/

# ln -s /var/service/qmail-pop3d

  And that is. I dont know why the xinet.d doesn't authenticate. But at
least, it works now.

  Greetings,
