And a copy of your startup scripts might help with troubleshooting. Saying "it doesn't work" without showing us what's in your scripts is very vague and hard to troubleshoot.

Probably your best bet would be to research the way that qmail-smtpd is run from tcpserver and read about tcpserver in your man pages and on the web.
