try changing the 0 in the file to 3306 like localhost|3306|vpopmail|pass|vpopmail
Shouldn't have any effect but who knows. I have also had issues where ive needed to connect to the ip of the machine rather than localhost due to a few crazy mysql dns bugs. Adding the details to the hosts file sometimes fixes that one too.
