Hi! I use a little script (-> http://loescher-online.de/progdata/vdr2mp4 ) which runs on my VDR every night and encodes all new recordings to MP4. With the Android app FolderSync I synchronize the MP4s with my mobile. Then I can view it when traveling with the app MXPlayer.
I have never tried Live TV on the mobile, but this should be possible via the Streamdev VDR Plugin:
