That's fine. You use Velocity in a webapp without Struts. You don't *need* an MVC framework (though its certainly a good idea). A very good alternative to my taste is the project Maverick: http://mav.sourceforge.net. Others are OS Webwork (like mentioned), Enhydria (? there's some code in /contrib/temporary/enhydria-velocity), and others (I expect that Nigel and Velocity integrate perfectly ;)
