Plan and design innovative enterprise-wide networksolutions that include integrated financial analysis of technical alternatives to meet business and redundancy requirements. Apply experience to improve functional area business processes.* *2. Standardize lead the development, prepare recommendations, and produce technical position papers that define the architecture standards for WAN and LAN infrastructure.* *3. Document and Transition: Produce and maintain timely, accurate engineering documentation to lead implementations, support operations, and develop quality and compliance requirements. The engineer will also provide training and documentation to transition projects to the operations group.* *4. Design system tests, perform capacity planning, and continuously optimize traffic flows through the network and border infrastructure.* *5. Establish criteria and perform technology evaluations, including lab analysis and proof of concept along with supporting analysis and documentation in order to implement new WAN or Border network technologies that benefit the organization.* *6. Provide technical thought leadership in both business-as-usual and crisis conditions, including level 3 supports.* *7. Provide technical direction and mentor staff in areas of expertise.* *8. Integrate technical knowledge with communication, leadership and business skills. Be able to communicate technical knowledge to non-technical business units. Be able to effectively communicate complex technical topics to Sr. Management.* *9. Individual Drive and Teamwork Capable. Take the initiative to act independently to achieve organization objectives, uncover, and resolve issues. Be able to work effectively in a team environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.* *10. Demonstrate a strong customer-centric approach, empathy for global cultural differences, and excellent verbal and written communications skills. Frequently interact with suppliers to influence their products and services in directions favorable to the enterprise.* *Qualifications:* *1. IT Experience in a large multi-national corporation with 20+ WAN sites.* *2. Candidate must demonstrate mastery of layer 3 routing that includes BGP and OSPF protocols.* *3. In-depth knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6. Experience with external IP registrars, nationally and internationally. IP addressing design experience in both the Public and Private addressing space. IPv6 knowledge will be a definite plus.* *4. Solid knowledge of how carrier networks work and provide services to customers.* *5. Router configuration design and protocol design.* *6. In-depth knowledge of VoIP connectivity over network infrastructure.* *7. In-depth knowledge of the various QoS methodologies.* *8. In-depth knowledge of WAN acceleration devices that optimize end user and data center to data center application flows. (application acceleration).* *9. Broad understanding of IT infrastructureplatforms (cross work stream, e.g. Compute, Storage, Virtualization, LAN, VoIP, NGFW, VPN, IDS/IPS, Load Balancers, etc.). NGFW design and implementation experience. IDS/IPS design experience. VPN, client and clientless, S2S.* *10. Academicknowledge and practical implementation of SDN fundamentals.* *11. Technologies: Cisco, Arista, F5 LTM and GTM, Riverbed Steelhead and Granite, Palo Alto.* *Nice to Haves* *1. IPv6.Academic knowledge and practical experience.* *2.
