This Systems Engineer will work with internal IT support staff and/or the business on root cause analysis of problems. This position will interface with all levels of IT management to provide subject matter expert advice on new technologies that will provide value to the organization. Will work with the internal incident and change management system to manage incidents, problems, and changes. Will provide documentation and training to be used/consumed by other members of the systems team and related infrastructure teams. Include the percentage of time spent on each function.) • Project-focused role with task and milestone accountability • Work with IT leadership to develop the overall direction and strategy for the Systems Engineering department • Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices within infrastructure assets • Serve as an escalation point for less senior resources within the Systems Engineering group and other operations support groups as necessary to resolve complex, technical problems • Define requirements, provide options, and make recommendations related to purchasing and deployment of various hardware and software to meet business objectives • Identify creative solutions to solve various business requirements and needs • Architect and maintain a secure server and system environment and enforce adherence to corporate policies • Architect disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for critical systems and processes • Assist IT leadership in budget decisions relating to software licensing, hardware, and systems • Develop policies and procedures to establish and maintain consistency and process-driven resolution to problems • Adhere to documented Change Management processes to protect the integrity of the production environment • Manage ticket loads and ensure that response time SLAs are met Essential Skills and Experience (In order of importance, list only those functions that are necessary to carry out the purpose of the position. Include the percentage of time spent on each function.) • Significant Scripting experience with PowerShell, PowerCLI, or similar • Significant Cloud engineering experience with Azure design, delivery and support, ADFS, Identity Mgt, etc. • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting PaaS, IaaS and SaaS infrastructure • High-level architecture understanding and hands-on experience with AD & AD GPO implementation, administration, and maintenance on premise and in the cloud. • Perform advanced design, administration, and troubleshooting of Active Directory including Group Policies, schema, and recovery models • Advanced Microsoft Exchange administration in a hybrid environment, trending analysis, and troubleshooting • Design cluster and/or other HA solutions for mission critical server and DB server infrastructures • Experience deploying/implementing and administering PKI (MS CA) • Experience with design, implementation, and administration of Zerto • Experience with design, implementation, and administrationof XenApp 7.X • Advanced experience with virtualizations • VMware, ESX, and vCenter design, administration, and troubleshooting • Experience with VDI design, implementation, and support • Document systems, applications, and processes as directed • Train other engineers on systems, applications, and processes as directed • Perform SAN design and develop operational policies and troubleshooting documentation for operations staff • Knowledge of EMC storage arrays. Zoning, storage pools, LUNs • Understanding of virtual and physical backups. Good practices, retentions • Patching: Experience with Windows & patching VM Guests at ESXi levelusing agentless application. • Understanding of using CIFS to replace a homefolder/department share structure • Experience troubleshooting a TCP/IP routed network Knowledge and Abilities (Mental and physical abilities required for the position) • In-depth knowledge or formal training in SAN technology • Thorough knowledge of Windows Active Directory • Ability to evaluate critical systems, prioritize work, and determine solutions • Ability to work in a fast-paced, “think-on-your-feet” team environment • Ability to work on your own without day-to-day supervision. • Demonstrated ability to manage projects • Experience with current Windows operating systems • Experience with Linux operating systems • Familiarity with ITIL process and procedures • Ability to handle stressful environments • Ability to prioritize tasks • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required • Experience with CITRIX • Basic knowledge of the airline industry helpful • Ability to troubleshoot PC/LAN problems over the phone • Good work ethic and strong team player • Excellent troubleshooting skills Thank you!
