We teach that any IV site/infusion should be checked hourly. However, we only
require documentation on the site appearance every shift. If the patient is
getting chemo, especially a vesicant, the monitoring is more frequent and so is
the documentaiton.

Have a good one,

Maria

Hi:

I need your expert help. We are having a "friendly discussion" at work
about how often peripheral IV sites should be monitored? Every hour? every 2
hours? 4 hours?

What is everyone doing?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.
