We have used teh Curlin pump in home infusion for over a year now - it is nice
to be able to use one pump for all therapies, the patients like it - there was
a learning curve for us and our long term TPN patients but they adjusted well
this pump and like it - we have not really had any problems with it.

The Curlin pump was designed by engineers who had originally worked on the
6060, however it is a very different pump and not prone to the same issues
that plagued the 6060. You'll see similarities between the pumps when you
look at the Curlin, however as soon as you open the tubing door you'll start
to notice how very different the Curlin is. It's also helpful if the rep
brings a model that can be opened completely so you can see the internal
architecture of the pump compared to the 6060. We had an opportunity to
evaluate the Curlin on patients several years ago, and had no issues with
pump operation or durability.

Hi Debbie,
Would you happen to remember where you received information about the Curlin

technology being similar to the 6060? I am also concerned b/c we have been
using Baxter 6060s and we have a rep coming in tomorrow to demonstrate the
Curlin. I obviously would want to avoid a repeat of this experience.
Thanks for your input,

One of the issues I'm hearing about the Curlin, is some of it's
technology is based on the Bxter pump-could it have the same problems
down the road? We have a call in to our rep about the Bodyguard. Also
we probably look at others.

With the 6060 recall, I am eager to hear from other home infusion
providers as to your new pump of choice. We looked at the Curlin pump
some time ago, but at that time we not real interested in switching
pumps. Can anyone give any feedback on the Curlin? Thank you.
