In my opinion, skin antisepsis when removing a CVC is only required when you are doing a culture of the catheter. Lynn

So is it over kill for nursing to clean the site prior to removal? We do not do this for peripheral IV.


Naturally a agree with all other aspects such as preventing air embolism and occlusive dressing until the site has healed.
