Would any of you pedi and neonatal experts please help us with skin
prep principles for our premies and NICU patients.
We know not to use the chlorahexidine for infants under 2 mo. and the
nurses are very cautious with the use of betadine.
What skin prep/cleanser do some of you use for:
a. Peripheral IV insertion
b. PICC or UAC/UVC insertion
c. PICC dressing changes when done
d. blood culture collection
at your institutions?
Thanks for your help!
