I was 'multi tasking' when I sent my reply to this email....and not paying attention.  I realized after sending that I hit 'change' to everything the spellchecker wanted to change...which is all the abbreviations etc, so it will be interesting to see how it reads!  Sorry....giving you a challenge on  a Friday!

Subject: Re: DVT's

I too have had the MD state that they seem to see more DVT with PICC lines. I am tracking them and trying to analyze the findings. Over the past 5 years our DVT rate has been around 2%. We place about 1900 lines per year. I don't find that extremely elevated. The Doc' thought it had to do with using the Bard power PICC . I do not see that, I am looking at the DX. meds, tip placement and age and sex of each patient with a DVT. Has any one else seen any increase in DVT with the dual lumen power PICC?
