Need feedback/specific info relative to central lines (short and long term CVCs, Ports, PICCs, etc), beyond the INS SOP. Does anyone out there have recent experience with JCAHO's specific expectations regarding the use of pumps for central lines? (both hospital and home care) This topic has come up for discussion and there are those have the expectation that all infusions given centrally will be infused via a pump, and then there those who say if a pump is cost-prohibitive then ok to gravity infuse. I have my own opinion (of course
