5000u per cc daily per lumen? With the typical volume being circa 2cc? The problem with this amount and strength in the long term care arena is that I know the nurses will not pull out the existing heparin prior to use or flushing. I prefer the nurses flush with 5cc of heparin 100 units/cc when able to use the catheter if no longer used for apheresis or dialysis.
