There are ONLY 2 companies that make an MRI "compatible" large volume IV pump, and ONLY ONE that is Truely NON MAGENTIC.

The MedRad Continuum is a MAGNETIC ambulatory care pump modified to work up to a point (2000 gauss line) in the MRI.

The IRadimed MRidium infusion pump is the only one completely NON- magnetic and can be placed anywhere in up to a 3T MRI.

The Medfusion 3500 is a SYRINGE pump, is magnetic, and can only be used up to the 150 gauss line.

By the way, the smaller the gauss line number, the further you are away from the magnet. So the Medfusion syringe pump must be kept near a door, or wall and bolted to some non movable object.

The Medrad continnum must be kept a few feet from the front of the MRI.

I work for IRadimed, and have done extensive research on what is and is not compatible for MRI, so if anyone else has questions, feel free to email me.  I will also be speaking at AVA 2006 in September on IV safety in the MRI.
