To the Home Infusion Pharmacies,
We are having several discussions with the pharmacist regarding overfill.
Are you adding overfill to chemotherapy that would be administered via a cadd pump. If so, how much overfill are you adding, and are you setting the res vol at the correct amount to be infused (without the overfill) on the pump? If not, are you allotting for priming of the tubing or are you going by the <4% of total volume guideline.
Do you put overfill in any other medications such as antibiodics?
