We are looking at our flushing policies and are wondering what you all are using for hep flushes for hickman caths. We still use hep at this time although it is also being looked at.
Right now we flush with 10cc NS followed by 100units hep flush diluted with 4cc NS.
None of us can remember why the flush was set up that way.
We are a hosp based IV team. Would appreciate hearing what the rest of you are doing.
We are doing research for articles etc which would either support or not support that technique.
