I have a tremendous issue with routinely placing any short
peripheral IV catheter in the antecubital fossa, unless it is for a
very short duration (e.g., CT scan) and will be removed immediately
after the procedure. This is an area of joint flexion that should be

Additionally, with double lumen catheters-there are placement requirements-the package
insert from the manufacturer states that the placement of these catheters should be no
lower than the Ante-cubital space!!! I have a very difficult time getting this point across in
