The problem with the twin cath is it is just a large bore peripheral IV therefore it is limited to the hemodilution of a small vessel and prone to a high phlebitis rate, infiltration. I believe it is an 18 or 16 gauge catheter placed in the lower arm veins and cannot do incompatibles kathy
