Subject: RE: "the Bone" catheter securement device

We trialed this device at our hospital based outpatient ambulatory infusion
center. The presentation and theory behind the device seems nice, and initial
application went well. However when the dressing change was due we found removal
to be very difficult. The adhesive was very sticky and gummy and stuck to my
patient and sterile gloves so much that I was afraid of compromising the site
and a significant amount of adhesive was left behind. We presently use Statlock
and honestly have not have problems with movement of the catheter, but were
willing to try the "Bone". We will not be changing however.
