I choose curtain number 2. Because of the rapid flow rate in the SVC, it's way, way overkill to turn the infusion off that long.

Do you stop your TPN or Cardizem for about 15 – 20 minutes before drawing blood from a central line, or are you stopping the infusion, immediately flushing with 20cc of saline then drawing the specimen, then resuming the infusion?
