We keep an extra supply of the 5 Fr Bard Radiology MST kits
(as well as extra 5 Fr Safety MST kits) on hand that has the longer introducer
that seems to work much better for those tougher vessels. I have only tried the
introducer separation method once. I prefer to just use another introducer. It
seems like once I have attempted enough with the first, the second just slides
right in!!

Subject: Fwd: Re: ? Problem with introducer
Thanks to all of you for your assistance. I have tried all the
suggestions, except for the separation of the pieces and putting them
back together.I will certainly try that. I am really glad to know that
I am not the only one experiencing this. I thought I was loosing my touch
or something. I thought there was a new generation of "TOUGH SKIN".
Thanks again for all your input. I learn so much from this site.
And just one more note. I am seeing some light at the end of the tunnel
regarding the getting Cathflo in to the nurses hands. to Save the Line. The
pharmacist is presenting it to the Dr. at the monthly meeting for approval for
use. Thanks for all the help and suggestion on that problem . The written policy
and procedures that I received were very helpful. It's always nice not to
reinvent the wheel.
