Title: Re: Popliteal Peripheral Catheters
Is this an IV catheter or is it the subcutaneous catheter made like a soaker hose placed near a surgical site? If a subq pain management catheter, my understanding is that they are used for several days and them removed. I-Flow is one of the manufacturers and if you are using their brand you may want to contact their nurse for input. Lynn

Has anyone in the group been managing popliteal peripheral catheters for post-operative pain management, particularly in home care? I have been asked to gather information on the infusion of Ropivicaine 0.2% for management of postoperative pain in patients undergoing ankle or hind foot procedures. I have been able to gather info from the American Society of Anesthesiologists, but always value the input from this group. Thanks in advance for any info you share -
