It is recommended you have them at the same level to ensure similar oprations on both the nodes. Also when you call support with a problem it becomes easier to narrow down an issue when you have identical patch levels. Other than that there is nothing preventing you from running at two different kernel patch levels.

Hello colleagues,
We have two nodes for HA cluster installation. They has identical OS version (Solaris 5.9), but different kernel patch level 118558-30 vs. 118558-25.
Is it admissible configuration of cluster or even patch level must be identical?
