Hi,

We have a rather odd question:
In our environment the users kill their processes at odd times and
without following a proper procedure (or they use buggy scripts).
In the end they kill their processes and we SAs get a "Resource failed"
alert. Not fun for the one being on-call.

We still would like VCS to start and stop the application, e.g. in case
we fail it over to another node, or we have a clean shutdown or startup
of the cluster. But VCS should not care whether the application.

The application users use their own monitoring, so they know about
problems faster than we do in many cases, so this is no issue for us.

Thus the question:

Is it possible to use an application resource with a start and stop
script and no monitor script and VCS will trust the start script and
believe the application is running although it's actually not? This
might make VCS report a wrong status (ONLINE) for the resource although
it's dead, but this is ok.

Harald
