For those frustrated by the lack of support for Versions these days there is an 
excellent alternative to Versions on Mac - 

Cornerstone

Actually, Cornerstone is light years better than Versions. And no, I have no 
connection whatsoever with the developers of Cornerstone. I just gave up on 
Versions, switched, and am delighted.
