I'm sorry, but are you really running the rc2 version? Perhaps there's the old version on your path. You can verify you're running the latest version by clicking on a line width combobox, and checking that there is a list of different point sizes (0.5pt, 1pt, 1.5pt, etc) rather than a list of sizes with different units. I've just grabbed the source and opened up the fit.vsz example. If I set "min. fit range" to 2 and "max. fit range" to 4 and do a fit, it seems to be fitting just three data points.
