Ah... it's obvious now you've pointed it out -- thank you. Personally, I'd 
prefer the default to be for the grid lines to be behind the data, but others 
may prefer it as it is.

Understood. I needed to use a polygon for the particular chart I was thinking 
of because there was some transparency involved, so I couldn't rely on the 
unwanted bits of edge-fill being hidden. But that's obviously an unusual case.
