Yes, that launches fine -- no splash screen -- on OS X 10.8.3
It would be great if anyone with a 32 bit Mac could confirm whether this works,
and anyone still on 10.6.
Unfortunately, I don't have a 32-bit Mac to hand. If it's any help, setting "Open in
32-bit mode" in the Finder's Get Info window for the Veusz application on that same
machine causes Veusz to crash on launch:

It looks like I didn't properly build numpy with i386 and x86_64
support. There's a new version which fixes that:
