The good news is that I've been able to make the source code largely python2.6+ and python3.3+ compatible. After fixing some bugs, the branch seems to run. I'm fixing bugs as I find them. Unfortunately at least one of the C/C++ modules will probably need moving to the python3 API.
I've merged the new code back in to the master branch. Everything should now be working completely in Python 3.3+ as well as Python 2.6+. The only think which probably won't work is the EMF export support, as pyemf only supports Python 2.x (I also am not sure about minuit, etc).
