I never saw the largest trout I ever hooked. It was dusk, I couldn't see the
6x tippet to tie, so I changed to 2x. I had been getting some good hits
drifting & then stripping a bugger cross current, but the largest I had
caught was about 19". The fish we now call Neo took it on the first strip,
made two short runs, realized it was hooked & took off. The tippet snapped
as the line was slipping through my fingers. We've been looking for "The
One" ever since.
