Hi Neville,

I am developing techniques and a series of flies using a shapeable,
moldable foam. The foam cannot be tied to a hook (the thread cuts
right through it). Hooks need to be GLUED into the foam. When done
properly, the setup is very durable.

I have been looking for a product that I could wind around a hook
that would give the hook shank a "tooth" without a lot of bulk. The
purpose of the tooth would be to give the foam something to hang onto,
to prevent rotation or slippage around the hook. Just from the tests
so far using the Gudebrod C-Thru, it works for that purpose!

I am also going to play around with the material for special leader
mini-connectors and such. Should be interesting to make loops from
8-pound, 1/16" diameter braided nylon. Like I noted, the breaking
strength is much greater than listed.

Wes
