"To prepare the straw, cut it half lengthwise.  Then taper one end of it to a 
point, which will be lashed onto the hook shank just in front of the bend.  Tie 
in the straw concave side up.  The straw should protrude off the hook one inch 
or less. Place a dab of cement on the straw and press the skin side of th strip 
into the groove of the straw."
