This is what the swap is for- but the prime mover and center is a pelt that
everyone wants a portion of.
After that, it's materials poker.
If it's not about a pelt, then again, it's another materials swap.

substitute newer materials for dubbings listed on recipes for certain flies?
For example, I used to tie the Adams with muskrat, which was the original
material. Now I use Krystal Dub or Ice Dubbing (or whatever it's called)
which is easier to use and buy. I used to have a whole muskrat skin. I
gave half of it away, and hardly look at it now. So, I don't use large
amounts of materials, and small "sample" sizes would suit me very well.

I would use Moscow for the exotics that can't be found elsewhere*, like
their chinchilla, which is superb.

Fur dubbings are a learning and trail experience, along with some research.
Start with common ones- fox, mink, badger, possum, rabbit, squirrel.
Once you master those, try others, like chinchilla, seal, PB, etc.

It's going to take someone to volunteer to meister, then swappers can be
shoppers,
and then wheeler-dealers (adding their own stocks)

And rope-dubbing makes working with furs a whole new deal, anyway. Getting
fur-on-skin allows you to hackle flies with the guard hairs (once you master
the tip-rope and the butt-rope). Guard hairs pulsate like soft-hackles but
are
more durable. The dubbing sequence for your fur flies averages 50 seconds,
less with practice.
