Hi Gary; For the last 6 years, all I've used is fiberglass fly rods. I much prefer the action and ability to feel the rod load versus the high casting speeds that can be obtained with graphite rods. That said, I typically mostly fish "fast" fiberglass rods which are slower than "slow" graphite. It's a relative thing. I'm a fan of the Fibergalss Manifesto that Cameron Mortenson authors and a member of the Fiberglassflyrodders web site: http://fiberglassflyrodders.yuku.com/ One ot these days, I'd love to make a bamboo rod, probably one of the 7' 2pc based on the SirD taper that Tony Spezio and others are so fond of. Personally for small streams with little wind I they are more enjoyable to fish than the high modulus carbon rod. http://thefiberglassmanifesto.blogspot.com/2010/09/first-look-cabelas-cgr-series.html -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VFB Mail" group.
