Nick,
They did lay off all employees and shut down. I tried to call Paul and the
phone was not working. I don't know what the status is now.

Didn't know that. But the situation was like I said in the beginning. I was
member of their pro staff (together with Tony. They terminated their tying
program (together with the pro staff) and Chris Helm bought a big part of what
was left from their threads. I only got half of my "yearly pro staff share",
but I had to turn to Chris to buy the colors I didn't get. Fly-tying stuff
disappeared from their page, but the rest, rod building products
included, remained unchanged. I didn't know something had happened since then.

Hi Nick:
I beg to differ. They ran into serious financial difficulties and layed off the
entire staff. Production was ended for a period of time while the owners sought
financial help. I believe that they sold off the medical and dental floss side
of the business and the electronics division assets only.

They are now back concentrating on what they do best – Fishing threads etc.

Gudebrod was never "out" from business. They only terminated their fly-tying
program, but they never quit supplying their rod wrapping thread.
